Perhaps Daphne’s mother was a bit too attached to her grown daughter, because even after she died, Daphne’s mother found a way to remain in her daughter’s life. She became a voice in Daphne’s head. Once Daphne decided she hadn’t gone insane, she found her mother had some useful information.
