Story 140/366

In a world where subtraction and the division of fraction are forbidden knowledge, two children and a drunken old man contemplate the nature of the universe. This story doesn’t really fit into any specific category—“new weird” is probably the closest—but it’s filled with flights of verbal fancy that catch us up. The story comes from a new anthology called The Future is Japanese, edited by Masumi Washington. Enjoe, who has a degree in physics, mostly writes sf and science fiction.
