Triage, Alice Elliott Dark

by Patti Abbott

An elderly woman takes up theology, sharing her new found observations with her six scattered children. One, in particular, feels her mother has appropriated her ideas over the years, never giving her proper credit. When she finally wins her mother’s attention through the observation that the trinity resembles the act of procreation, she is warmed by her mother’s words. But then her baby begins to crawl for the first time and this moment pulls her away from the phone and her mother, who will soon forget her brilliance again. PA
