The Basher, Jason Starr, WALL STREET NOIR

by Patti Abbott

This has been sitting on my shelves for several years and I did read Megan’s story in it. But stories about stocks and money either bore or scare me. But this seemed like the time to read one. Well, not so much. This is much the story I feared. Lots of stuff about stocks, the bust, the end of good times, revenge, a nasty protagonist. It is probably authentic to its setting but not enough character development or psychological insight for me. I have liked Starr’s work in general so this was probably just a bad topic for an anthology.
