Synopsis: In the vein of Sunshine of the Eternal Spotless Mind.
A war veteran with half his face twisted into scars passes her in the hallway. He smiles. She knows what he wanted to give up. She wishes him a thousand nights of peaceful sleep and shadows without enemies lurking in their darkness.
The doctor smiles. She signs the papers.
I expected more from this story, more of an actually updated retelling of SotESM, where something new had been brought to the table, but alas it was not to be. A basically bog-standard Be Careful What You Ask For story with a great title.
