From the anthology Bad Cop … No Donut (edited by John L. French, Padwolf Publishing, 2010). I have to say how much the title of this book tickles me. The cover actually has a picture of a doughnut in handcuffs. This story appears to have originally been published in 2007 in Reflections from the Pit, a collection of stories by Berish.
Two racist white cops spot a drug deal about to go down and treat the men involved very badly. And then something unexpected happens …
I didn’t even notice at first. This is the second story I’ve read this year with this title. Very different stories.
